Day 1 Arrival at New Delhi & sightseeing of Old Delhi

Traditional welcome will be proffered by our representative at the time of arrival at IGI airport, Delhi. As normally happens, the international flights arrive Delhi either late in the night or very early in the morning, you will be well received and transferred to the pre-booked Delhi hotel. Have sound sleep, rest and come out of jet-lag. In the morning, after breakfast, you will be met by the Delhi tour guide and taken on Old Delhi sightseeing tour which comprises Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. Later in the afternoon, have manual rickshaw ride in the bustling bazaar and narrow alleyways of Chandni Chowk. Return to Delhi hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 New Delhi sightseeing

After delicious and sumptuous breakfast, move on a trip down the memory lane of Delhi with sprawling gardens and stately buildings. The New Delhi sightseeing tour takes you to visit 12th century monument, the Qutub Minar. In the Qutub Minar complex, find the ruins of Hindu temples and palaces which once remained here and later devastated by Muslim invaders. A prime attraction of the Qutub Minar complex is 4th century iron pillar which has not developed rust till date. Also visit India Gate (a war memorial), President House (formerly residence of British representative in India), Parliament House, Humayun’s Tomb (first matured Mughal architecture), Laxmi Narayan Temple and Lotus Temple. Return to Delhi hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3 Delhi – Agra (220 kms/ 04 hrs)

Today on Golden Triangle with Kerala Tour, you shall move for Agra after taking breakfast in Delhi hotel. Depart for Agra early in the morning, as you will require sufficient time to visit several world famous monuments, including Taj Mahal. On the way to Agra, have a brief stop-over to visit Tomb of Akbar at Sikandara, which is one of the finest examples of Hindu and Mughal fusion architecture. After visiting Tomb of Akbar at Sikandara en route, move for Agra. Arrive Agra and check in at the Agra hotel.

Relaxing for a while, move for visiting Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Tomb of It-Mad-ud-Daula. Taj Mahal, the epitome of love, is how it is defined. Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is rated as the most beautiful monument of love ever built. Taj Mahal was built during 1630 AD by Shah Jahan in fond memory of Mumtaj Mahal. Taj Mahal has been a flawless monument from its conception to execution. Visit the Taj Mahal in the soft light of the setting sun as well, depending upon time in hand.

Agra Fort, formerly a Rajput fort and built of bricks, was renovated, fortified and expanded by three Mughal emperors- Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Agra Fort is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous for its magnificent buildings like Jahangiri Mahal, Khass Mahal, Diwan-i-Khass, Diwan-i-Am, Machchhi Bhawan and Moti Masjid etc.

After Agra Fort visit, move for visiting Tomb of It-Mad-ud-Daula, better known as Baby Taj, though built earlier than Taj Mahal. Also explore ingenious handicraft products in Agra market place. Return to Agra hotel for overnight stay. (Taj Mahal remain closed to visitors on Friday).

Day 4 Agra- Fatehpur Sikri-Abhaneri- Jaipur (245 kms/ 05 hrs)

Having enjoyed enchanting beauty of Taj Mahal, depart from Agra towards Jaipur, after relishing sumptuous breakfast in Agra hotel. Before reaching Jaipur, there will be two stopovers en route- Fatehpur Sikri (38 kms from Agra) and Abhaneri (95 kms from Jaipur). Fatehpur Sikri briefly served as capital of Akbar and hence is home to grand palaces, meeting halls, courtyards, shrine of Salim Chishti and Buland Darwaja. For Abhaneri, you have to take a detour of 7 kms about 95 kms short of Jaipur. The sleepy village of Abhaneri is famous for ancient temple of a goddess. The temple of Abhaneri displays ruins and pieces of sculpture of a high degree of craftsmanship. But, now-a-days, the prime tourist attraction is 10th century Baoris (step-well) which is the most fascinating one in Rajasthan. The well is an innovative and indigenous invention of the local people to collect and harvest rainwater. Abhaneri step-well has 13 levels and is fortified with flights of steps on the three sides . It is an interesting piece of architecture.

Having seen marvelous piece of ancient craftsmanship, move for Jaipur. On arrival at Jaipur, check in at Jaipur hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5 Jaipur sightseeing

Have breakfast early in the morning to have ample time to enjoy an excursion to Amber Fort on caparisoned elephant ride to have a feel of the days of 'Maharajas'. And where you can enjoy it the most? Definitely only in Rajasthan. Amber Fort was immensely fortified citadel of Kachhawaha Rajput rulers of Jaipur. Wander inside Amber Fort to see magnificent palaces (summer palace, winter palace and mirror palace etc), courtyards, tunnels and water harvesting system. Witness the opulence of lifestyle of royal Rajput families.

After viewing Amber Fort, proceed for watching City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. En route visit Jal Mahal as well. City Palace, a royal family palace, is a well constructed constellation of a series of courtyards, gardens and buildings. Within the palace, a large building has been converted into a museum housing armoury, textiles and artifacts.

Jantar Mantar is a scientifically built 17th century solar observatory to measure the position of stars, altitudes, azimuths and calculating eclipses. It is the best preserved observatory of medieval India. Hawa Mahal is another monument and has somehow gained prominence as being synonymous with Jaipur.

After full day Jaipur city tour, you have ample time to explore exceptionally vibrant and colourful market of Jaipur which is famous for its handicraft and jewellery. Later in the evening return to Jaipur hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6 Jaipur- Cochin arrival (by flight) & sightseeing tour

Activities on the 6th day of Golden Triangle with Kerala Tour are dependent on the presumption that arrival at Cochin by flight or train is either late morning or early noon. On arrival at Cochin, our representative will greet and transfer you to the pre-booked Cochin hotel. There in hotel lobby, Cochin tour guide will meet you. After smooth check in, relax for a bit and, post-lunch, move for Cochin sightseeing along with Cochin tour guide. Cochin, regarded as commercial capital of Kerala, is one of the best natural harbours of the world. Situated on the mouth of the Arabian Sea, this is one of the best natural harbours in the world and a great place witnessing major trading to and from the area. Cochin sightseeing tour includes several historical monuments, places and objects like the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Chinese fishing nets, spice market etc. Later in the evening return to Cochin hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7 Cochin –Kumarakom (35 kms/ 30 min)

From Cochin, having taken delicious breakfast, move for Kumarakom, highly popular tourist destination. On arrival at Kumarakom, check in at Kumarakom hotel/ resort. Kumarakom, situated on the banks of Vembanad Lake, is a small tourist hamlet, developed on reclaimed land from the lake.
