The former manor or town house of the landed gentry of Samode, is considered as the most beautiful haveli of Jaipur. Only 6 kms from Jaipur railway station, Samode Haveli is easily accessible and located right in the heart of the Pink City. One has to reach the hotel after driving through narrow streets of the old town of Jaipur and get the vehicle parked in the yard. From there, one has to reach the front door of the hotel by walking on a broad elephant ramp that was built in the 1940s, especially for a wedding ceremony. From front door, one reaches the courtyard of the mansion via a staircase. Built by Rawal Sheo Singhji about 175 years ago, present day Samode Haveli has been carefully restored without destroying the typical atmosphere and the charm of the past. The courtyard is an oasis with a fountain and stone ponds. Immediately afterwards is beautifully painted and landscaped salon with newspapers and various magazines. One finds in the building many wonderful paintings, old photographs, mosaics and a green garden. Its highlight is one of the largest pools of Jaipur. All around this oasis are the noisy and hectic streets of Jaipur. Every room (total 30 rooms) in Samode Haveli of Jaipur, a family-run hotel, is decorated differently. There are Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Suites, Suites and the Sheesh Mahal Haveli Suite. Breakfast is served in the courtyard, which is shaded in the morning. In winter, the food is served in the sumptuously appointed dining hall. Here the walls are hand-painted from floor to ceiling.
